Digital infrastructure for community bus associations. Two apps, one system: Pro for the organisation, Go for the passengers.
Background
FahrmitUns was originally started as a volunteer project – for and with community bus associations struggling with growing coordination overhead. Paper lists, phone calls and Excel spreadsheets as dispatch tools: that was the starting point.
The app remains free. Whether the project stays volunteer-run long-term or evolves into a SaaS product has not yet been decided.
How it works
The system consists of two apps working together. Pro is for association managers, Go for passengers at request stops.
A passenger at a request stop opens FahrmitUns Go and sends the active driver a pick-up request for their location.
In the FahrmitUns Pro app, the request appears instantly as a push notification. The driver sees stop and passenger at a glance.
With a tap, the driver decides whether to approach the stop. The decision is instantly relayed to the passenger.
FahrmitUns Go shows immediately: driver is coming – or not. No waiting in uncertainty.
